Ryan celebrated his 4th birthday in December. After I got home from work the first order of business was to open presents! Ryan has fully figured out the present thing now and he was looking forward to that. Since his birthday is before Christmas he unfortunately has to wait until the evening before the celebrating can begin, which is tough on a 4-year old.

Much to the relief of everyone there, he finally made some good progress.
After opening presents, we went to Texas Road House for dinner. Ryan wanted to go to McDonald's, but nobody else wanted to go there. Even though it was his birthday, we out voted him. We wanted to go to a place where they would make a big deal and sing happy birthday to him. We should have gone to eat and opened the gifts after dinner because the place was crowded and the the wait was long. Even though it was only the 19th, it appeared the Christmas Vacation has started and people were going out to eat.
Here we have Ryan sitting on the saddle as the waiters call attention to him and sing happy birthday. Ryan is not quite sure what to think of all this attention.
I was able to get him to force a smile for the camera.

After dinner we blew out candles, but not all of us had cake. I was way too full at that point to eat another bite.
