Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

We were a little bit late getting our Christmas Cards out this year because we had some printer problems and had some problems with our address data base. We did finally get most of them our and we are working on the rest as we are able to get addresses. Computers are so great but at times when there is a problem they can be a pain.

We took the kids to see Santa Claus at the mall. Although you cannot see it, Santa has a Texas-sized belt buckle that is great.

We hope all of our family and friends have a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I will be taking a little time off from work before the holidays and I might have some time to do some blogging to get caught-up on all our fall activities.

Christmas Morning

Christmas is my favorite time of the year which culminates on Christmas morning. The kids were very excited and while Brett planned to set some traps for Santa Claus, he was too busy on Christmas Eve to actually get them set. The kids were also very excited about Christmas but we made them stay in bed until 6:00, which is the standard. They would get-up at 3:00 am if we would let them, so we set the standard at 6:00. They were up and ready to go, so Lori and I got-up and got ready. It is so fun to suggest delays in seeing what Santa brought to the kids and see them get so worked-up about the suggestion. I really enjoy teasing the kids.

This is a picture of Ryan showing us a new Chevron Car he got for Christmas. While we have liked Chevron Cars in the past, I had some hesitation about them because we did not like Chevron. Now that I have gone to work for Chevron, that has all changed and we are now free to love Chevron. If anyone is interested, I will have to tell you why we did not like Chevron in the past. Brett and Jared are checking out their loot in the background.

This was another great Christmas. Jared reported that it was the best one ever, but I think the most recent one is the best one ever for him. It was a ton of fun and we had a great day.

Jared's School Christmas Program

Jared had a Christmas Program at school where he was a narrator/snowflake. It was quite an entertaining production except for the one father that was in the middle of the chairs that stood-up the whole time video taping. It is not that we minded him video taping because we did that too, it was that he was in the center of the chairs and he stood-up in front of everyone totally oblivious to the fact that he was blocking everyone’s view. Everyone else that was video taping went to the back of the classroom where they could stand-up without blocking everyone. Other than that lame dork, the program was good. Merry Christmas

We would like to wish both people that come to see this blog a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Both of you have received our annual Christmas Card Mailing, but just in case someone missed it, attached is a miniature of what we sent out.

I suspect you cannot read the writing on the card, so this is what it says: Merry Christmas to our family and friends this holiday season! We are doing great. Shane has started a new job at Chevron & we will be staying in Houston, Texas. The boys are doing well. As you can see by the pictures we are staying busy.
