Jared needed to do an outdoor flag ceremony to complete his Wolf in Cub Scouts and it was looking highly unlikely that it was going to happen through the Den here. I do not want to be too critical here because I know that those who are involved in the Cub Scouts for our Ward are doing the best job they can, but given the constraints the Scouting Program is not very strong and so we do "home" Cub Scouts. Since we do not have a flag pole or access to one, we decided that it would be easier to bring the Cub Scout uniforms to Utah than to try and find an outdoor flag pole we could use in Texas.

Since Brett is in his Den (they have one den for the Wolf, Bear and Webelos Scouts and since they all have different requirements, it becomes clear why we have to do "home" Cub Scouts) he helped Jared with the ceremony. It is a Den of two, which is how many of the requirements that require a Den are completed.

Richard and I are the Wolf leaders. We'll be in this calling forever I'm afraid, because we actually hold den meetings. It's not fair to the kids that want to do it if the leaders are losers. Good for you for holding home den meetings.
