Lori's Birthday

With Lori's birthday being in May along with Mother's Day, Lori really celebrates her "birth-month" as opposed to her "birthday". She even extends her celebration into June as she has done this year. For Lori actual birthday, we went our to eat at Texas Roadhouse where they brought out a saddle and had her sit on in and wave her napkin around while they wished her a happy birthday. It was a great moment to embarrass her and my only regret is I did not bring the camera to take a picture of that. It is at those moments that I wish I at least had a camera phone. A bad picture would be better than no picture. We did get some pictures of the birthday celebration after dinner though.

This is Lori and the kids after she opened her gifts. One of the gifts was a nice flash for her digital camera. If you were to compare these pictures with the new flash to those taken earlier with the same camera (look at Mother's Day and the School Awards posts) you can see a clear difference the right flash makes. It is even more important when taking pictures in large rooms like the awards ceremonies.

This is Lori and the kids with the Basking Robbins Ice Cream Cake full of candles. You will have to count the candles yourself to figure out how old she is.

Brett and Jared both participated in the lighting of the candles. It is good to have two lighting them at the same time so the candles that were lit first do not burn all the way down before the final candle is lit.
Lori blew out all the candles and set off the smoke alarm. Just kidding, she did not really set of the smoke alarm but it was smokey.

After Lori blew out the candles, the kids all had to take their turn blowing them out. There were too many to light all of them each time, but they did not seem to mind. This is Ryan taking his turn to blow out the candles for his "un-birthday".
