Greatwood Packers Football - Jared Playoffs Game 2

On November 10th Jared's team played their 2nd playoff game against the New Territory Knights. The Knights came into this game undefeated and the winner of the game was headed to the Super Bowl. This was a very big game for the Packers who were on a 7 game winning streak. The Knights are also a big rival because they have recruited in our area and taken some players. Brett's friend from school plays for the Knights in the Sophomore division. The Packers had something to prove going into this game.

Some people take their little league football more seriously than others. This guy leans a bit on the very serious side.

Toward the end of the game Jared got excited enough to get-up and support his team from the sideline.

This was a great game and the Packers won it 21 to 19 giving the Knights their first defeat and sending the Packers to the Super Bowl. We did not attend the Super Bowl for two reasons. The first reason is we were in Utah for Jared's baptism and Thanksgiving. We bought the plane tickets last July before we had any idea of how the football season was going to play out. The 2nd reason was the Super Bowl was played on Sunday. It was nice because we could bow out gracefully without making a big deal about the game being on Sunday, but we have made a commitment not to participate in little league sports on Sunday. Since Jared was out due to breaking his collar bone it did not matter to the team that he was not there. It would have been a big deal if Brett's team would have made it this far. I really wish they would not schedule things on Sunday. In the end the Packers lost the Super Bowl to the Cobras. But, Jared got a very nice trophy for supporting the team all year. It was a very successful season for the freshman Packers.
