Jared's Baptism in Utah

Jared was baptized and confirmed on November 17th in Utah. We decided that even though his birthday was October 6th, we would wait to baptize him around Thanksgiving when the kids had time off from school and we could go to Utah to do it. We had one free ticket on Southwest so the number of airplane tickets we would have to buy would be the same as having both sets of grandparents come to Texas for the baptism. We took advantage of the time and Jared got baptized and many family members and friends were able to attend.

Here is Jared in his white clothes before the service started.

This is a close-up of Jared. Notice his new glasses?

Me with Jared before the baptismal service. Jared wanted me to pose like we were getting ready to baptize him and so we could do some practice. All the kids love to practice getting dunked.

This is all of us before the baptismal service. Ryan was not doing his best to smile.

Here is our family with Grandma and Grandpa Dimond.

Our family with some of Jared's cousins that were able to attend. On the back row is Nathan, Brett, Kaulin, Conner, Jared, me and Lori. On the front row is Shelbey, Nicholas and Ryan. You would not be able to tell it, but Ryan is about 13 months younger than Nicholas.

We are so thankful that we were able to go to Utah for Jared's baptism. It was so nice to have all the support from family and friends. We appreciate the efforts of all those that attended to support us in this big event in our family. It was wonderful.

In addition to Jared's baptism that evening, earlier in the day Lori and I were able to attend the funeral for Lori's Aunt Laurel who passed away the Tuesday prior to our arrival. Since we purchased the plane tickets last July we consider it a miracle that we were there for the funeral. We are so grateful that we were able to be in Utah at that time so we could say our good-byes to Aunt Laurel.
