The party is just starting as the kids get ready to play.
The kids are focused as they anticipate what is coming next.
Brett and Jared have picked out what they want. Jared is getting a monkey and Brett is getting a Husky. So much for building a bear.

Now for a quick game of duck, duck, goose before stuffing your bear, frog, Shrek, monkey or dog, whatever the case may be.
As the birthday boy, Ryan gets to go first. He was not exactly sure what he needed to do.
Now, it is time to put a heart in your bear and one from each guest for Ryan's bear.

After the party at Build-a-Bear, whose who could came to our house for some lunch and cake and ice cream. Bret is lighting the candles while Ryan looks on in awe.

We've been to Build A Bear..It's not cheap. When you invite kids to the party do you pick up the tab too?
Yes, we pick-up the tab. There is a limit and the person leading the party is good to guide the kids to choose what will keep them in that limit. In addition, the parents are there and they are told the limit so they help the kids stay there. If parents choose, they can pay the additional cost to get more clothes. We let our kids choose to pay for more stuff with their own money if they want more clothes or accessories. It is an expensive birthday party per child, but not very many kids are invited. Our own family represents half the kids that attend. All the kids have had a birthday party at Build-a-Bear now and so we are done with parties there.
When I was a kid, I had 1 friend birthday party that I can remember. Lori, on the other hand, is the party queen and talks about “holidays like your birthday.” She is the one that goes all out for these parties and I come along reluctantly.
